Cautioning everyone that interviews here!
I was offered the Digital Marketing Specialist position in the beginning of 2025, after only an interview.
After receiving the offer, I requested additional information and asked to speak with someone more closely connected to the role (such as the VP of Marketing) in order to make an informed decision, as my interview was with the HR manager and the CEO. That request was denied, and I was asked to submit my questions via email instead… weird.
Unfortunately, after doing so, I received no response and experienced a complete lack of follow-up from the company.
I found this disappointing and unprofessional, especially given that Olive Tree People positions itself as fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Extending a job offer and then disengaging when a candidate asks reasonable follow-up questions raises concerns about transparency and internal communication.
A company’s hiring process is often a reflection of its culture. In this case, the lack of communication made it difficult to feel confident about how employees are supported or valued.
Suggestions for Improvement:
• Allow candidates reasonable opportunities to ask questions about the role
• Provide clarity around interviewers and decision-makers
• Maintain open communication after extending an offer
Transparency and responsiveness are essential for attracting and retaining top talent, and I hope the company considers improving its hiring practices moving forward.
