Interview
I was approached by a recruiter for a position and underwent a multistep interview process that included an introductory call, calls with the hiring manager and HR, a call with the CEO, and a final assignment. Each step aimed to assess different aspects of the position, culminating in a presentation and questions.
While I had a good impression of the company, I noticed that the interviewers were particularly interested in understanding the hierarchy of my current company, as well as how our algorithm and customer book of business were organized. These questions were present at every step of the process, and given that other colleagues received the same invitation, I felt like this was an attempt to gather business intelligence. As a result, I decided to provide each stakeholder with a different version of the truth to see where they were going.
Although the final assignment was interesting, I felt that it was unfair to elaborate an entire sales process for a fictitious company that resembled them. While the task was intended to allow the interviewers to understand the logic, it generally focused on a specific aspect of a problem rather than the overall problem. For this reason, I found the process somewhat unusual.
It's been several months since the position was confirmed to be going ahead with someone else, and the fact that it has not yet been filled makes me wonder even more.
Interviewers seemed friendly though and the process was well thought i must say.
