I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Opendoor (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
Started with a recruiter call basically talking about my experiences and what the company did.
Afterwards, moved to a technical screen where I was asked a set of coding problems (standard).
Was asked to an all day onsite afterwards where I was asked to bring my laptop and was assigned a room where 4 different engineers came to ask me front-end and back-end coding assignments in a pair program scenario with the last one being a system architecture question. Lunch in between with a hiring manager.

I applied online. I interviewed at Opendoor (Seattle, WA) in Jun 2026
Interview
Recruiter Screen asked typical intake questions. They were friendly and generally easy to speak with. However, they constantly deflected and refused to answer questions regarding budgeted salary ranges for the role, which is required in WA state. The Job description did not include these ranges either. A few hours later received the standard rejection email.

Question 1
What type of role are you looking for? What is your current salary and salary expectations for your next role?
Failed at HR call. Profile might not be that much match, they are looking for backend leaning role but I did more front end works instead. HR might not look up my resume carefully.
