I was recently approached by Otoqi for a role they believed aligned with my profile. While I appreciated being headhunted, my experience with their interview process left much to be desired.
The initial stages were well-structured and professional. I had a standard discussion about my experience and some case studies with HR, which provided a solid introduction to the role and the company. However, when I progressed to the next stage with the hiring manager, the process became less organized. The exchange was scattered, with no clear focus or flow, which made it challenging to fully engage or showcase my skills.
After this stage, I was contacted again and told that my profile matched what they were looking for, but they needed to complete interviews with other candidates. This seemed fair and transparent, but unfortunately, it was the last I heard from them. Despite their positive feedback, they never followed up or provided closure, leaving me feeling ghosted and undervalued as a candidate.
While Otoqi demonstrated potential in the earlier stages of their recruitment process, their lack of communication and professionalism in the later stages reflects poorly on their brand. A simple update or a courteous rejection would have made a significant difference in my perception of them.
I hope they take this feedback to improve their candidate experience in the future.
