It was a three stage interview process: firstly there was an informal HR chat, followed by a technical interview, and finally an interview with the director of operations and engineering

Question 1
Could you give an example of a time when you experienced a conflict of opinions during a project and how you dealt with it?
I applied online. I interviewed at Owlstone Medical (London, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
I also got ghosted by them after completing the technical assessment. The company responses say these experiences are “far removed from our recruitment processes”, but if I’m the third person in 6 months to say I got ghosted, then it seems that not getting back to candidates is the typical recruitment process.
Applied: late August
1st round: mid-September, with hiring manager, Phillip. Very basic stats and ML questions.
Assessment: was received 2 days after the call and I was given a week to complete it. Easy-ish.
And then nothing. I reached out a few times to get feedback but nothing. At this point, it kind of seems like the “do free work for a company” type of interview.
Thank you for your review. I am really sorry that this was your experience. I have looked into what has happened here and our applicant tracking system at the time was giving us difficulties and not sending out communications that we thought had been sent. This is no excuse and once we were aware of the issues we made sure that we reached out to every candidate individually. I have checked and we have emailed everyone that did a coding test (I am not sure if on this occasion our email went into your junk folder at all) as we appreciate the amount of time and effort that our talented candidates spend completing a set task and will always provide a response to candidates throughout our recruitment process. Since your experience, we have implemented a new applicant tracking system as we were having so many issues.
Can I ask that you contact me directly so that I can send you across the feedback from your coding test if that would be of use to you?
Once, again I am sorry that this was your experience, it is not reflective of our normal recruitment process and was unfortunately during a period where we were experiencing technical difficulties with our software.
I wish you all the best with your career and hope to hear from you directly so that I can give you specific feedback if that would be of use.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Owlstone Medical
Interview
The tests were all conducted online. The first was an online technical test using a platform similar to leetcode. The next was a HR interview, then online task based test with three different tasks.
HR would not answer any of my questions during the process and the interviews were unprofessional and disorganised. It was really a pretty awful experience. At the end after three rounds of interview nobody ever followed up with me about the job so I am assuming I didnt get it. The company seems to be in a bit of a mess.

Question 1
They showed me a CNN and asked me to describe its application to a problem
Thank you for taking the time to post your review following your recent interview process.
We are very disappointed to read of your experience as this is so far removed from our usual recruitment processes. We always get back to candidates post interviews and we have, following an internal audit, confirmed that we did indeed issue feedback to all candidates in this recruitment process.
That being said we are sorry that you feel the way you do as we recognise the amount of work, time and effort that goes into interview preparation from talented candidates.
If you would like to discuss this further please reach out to me directly.
