I applied online and was contacted through email the next day to set up a phone interview. HR called me the next day and it was a pleasant phone interview. I moved onto the in-person interview on-site. During the in-person interview, HR informed me of what the position entailed and asked me questions throughout. It lasted almost 50 minutes. I was told there were a few more interviews and I would be contacted within the week and would know whether I move on to the final step or not. I thought the interview went really well, but one week passes and no one answers my e-mail for a follow-up so I assume I don't move on. Two weeks after my interview, I get a call from HR who apologizes because it has been busy. I tell her it's fine, and she tells me she was impressed with me and that I have successfully moved onto the next step to be interviewed by PI's VP. My interview with the VP lasted under 30 minutes. It was revealed at this time that there were very few candidates who were given the chance to be interviewed by the VP, me being one of them. VP told me they would make a decision and inform the candidates of their decision within 2 weeks. I waited an extra week based on my previous experience before requesting a follow-up. Both phone call and e-mail requests for a follow-up go unanswered.
Very unprofessional follow-up given the amount of time committed to the application process.
