I applied online. I interviewed at Pacific Science Center
Interview
First step was a phone interview, which was very positive. One note, the scheduling software seems to automatically add a Teams meeting to the invite, even though it's for a phone interview, so that can be confusing if you're not sure whether you're actually in for an on-camera meeting (it was, in fact, just a phone call).
Second interview was in-person, but the hiring manager wasn't actually present, which was pretty strange since candidates would of course need to ask their potential manager questions more than anyone else, and since I wasn't then sure when to reiterate stuff I'd already talked about in the phone interview (many of the questions were similar). It was fine enough, though the vibes weren't nearly as engaged or encouraging as the phone interview; felt like possibly they already had their first choice in mind. Mostly questions regarding how you handle sensitive info, learn new software, etc. Sounds like they're in the middle of a rebuild in terms of their leadership and possibly the general culture of professionalism, so it sounds like they're heading in a positive direction.
