First, I had a 1 hour interview with a hiring manager. She was very knowledgeable and engaged. She referred me on for a nearly 90 minute interview with 3 senior staff members. We had a great discussion - they asked me some very thoughtful questions and told me about the prospective projects the open position would support. Unfortunately, I didn't get the position. The only disappointing part was receiving a generic form letter rejection. I followed up with the hiring manager to thank her for her time, ask her to please keep me in mind for future opportunities, and to ask if she could share any additional feedback regarding why I didn't advance for further consideration. I had two great and productive interviews, and they seemed to be considering me very seriously for the role. She didn't respond, and I would have been grateful for a response, even if it was simply to tell me she didn't have that information available or just that I wasn't the strongest fit. I'd love to know if they liked me (I at least sensed they did, but her non-response worried me) and would consider me for other opportunities, and I should continue to stay in touch- or if I should chalk it up to a loss and cut ties.
