Environment was very calm. Started off with introductions to staff and the unit then a team scavenger hunt. The interview questions were presented in a 1:1 speed dating format. 3 minutes at 6 stations.
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Parkland Health (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2023
Interview
1. Applied for residency program when applications opened. Recruiter reached out from one of the units I applied to and sent a signup for a time slot on one of four dates, we could choose either in person (preferred) or virtual. I chose an in person date and was sent confirmation and directions the next day. 2. Arrived early, there was one other candidate waiting for their interview scheduled right before mine. Manager gave us a tour of the unit together, an overview of the residency program, and a chance to ask questions of some of the staff before the interview. Afterwards I was asked to wait in the lobby while the other candidate interviewed. 3. Panel interview with two unit managers and five other staff members. Each interviewer had a copy of my resume and one of the managers asked me a few specific questions about it . Each member of the panel asked one interview question, then I was given a chance to ask questions. Everyone was very warm and friendly. They told me they had two more interview dates left to go so I should expect to hear something within a few weeks. 4. Two days later, recruiter emailed me with offer. Time frame: Applied 1/6, recruiter reached out 1/31, interviewed 2/22, received offer 2/24.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why Parkland, and why this unit/specialty?
One interview with 3-4 staff members. Then an offer 1-2 weeks later just depends on how long and how many applicants were in your cycle. Very straight forward, staff members explained culture, and the residency process and what to expect
