I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paycom in Jul 2024
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn as I had my "Open To Work" banner on.
I decided to speak with the recruiter about this role and it was a very short call as the role did not align with my Open To Work preferences. I was looking for fully remote or hybrid work and this role was 2 days in office and 3 days meeting clients in your territory. The territory covered 2 counties and required a monthly trip to a territory about 7 hrs away. The recruiter let me know that sometimes they have Project Manager roles open and that is fully in office but does not require travel. She said she would reach out if one of those opportunities became available.
Overall the conversation was fine, but it would have been nice if the recruiter had done their research on me before reaching out. While I understand "why are you open to work?" is a standard question, having to recap that I was recently laid off from my previous role is never fun (and this is on my LI profile!) Also, when reaching out on LI, it would be helpful if the recruiter had sent a copy of the job post and not just told me the title and I had to seek out the job posting on their site.

Application
I applied online. I interviewed at Paycom (Fort Worth, TX) in May 2026
Interview
Starts with a quick recruiter call and then the process is supposed to be:
1 Hour virtual with Hiring Manager
30 min virtual with Regional Manager
1 hour presentation in Person
THEY ARE EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED.
My initial recruiter call was cancelled about 10 minutes beforehand because the " role had been filled." At first I did not think too much and my recruiter was very nice and moved my application for an opening at another location. After having the recruiter call she had then scheduled me to meet with a hiring manager. They send you a lot of stuff to review beforehand to prepare and is the only company that demanded a full suite for the interview. I prepped and was in the Zoom to meet with the hiring manager 10 minutes beforehand and just 5 minutes before what the start of the interview was supposed to be I get an email " the role has been filled and the interview is cancelled." Total waste of time, another recruiter reached out and said they would be calling me at a certain time and never called. I like to give people and companies the benefit of the doubt, but they cancel interviews last minute and want you to chase them. I had taken the day off of work to accommodate the hiring manager interview that was cancelled last minute.
