      GC/MS Applications Scientist Interview

      Oct 26, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PerkinElmer in Jul 2021

      Interview

      1) Screening call with recruiter Had a pretty generic conversation with the recruiter who forwarded the information to HR. 2) Preliminary interview Generic first interview about the role and location. Plenty of time to ask questions. Discussed next step which was panel interview. Was contacted about a month later about this. I was give 10 days to prepare for the presentation based of my avalibility. 3)Panel presentation & interview. There were 6-7 people listed in the MS teams invite, but as long as 4-5 showed up we went on. I presented my graduate research with an emphasis on work relating to this position. Afterwards, lots of questions from the panel about chemisty and GCMS, specific to the role. I would say it was an average interview. Some chem questions were difficult. Possibly due to a change in terminology since I looked it up afterwards and did know, just by a different name. I reached out a few weeks after and was told the position was moving slow. I reached out again about 5 weeks out from the last interview and never got a response. Interviews were pretty average, but I was disapointed to be ghosted after the effort put in by both sides.
