I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Pinnacle Airlines (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2012
Interview
Interview was conducted as an open house. Almost everyone interviewed was offered a job. They will ask you to submit to a 10 year FBI background check in which you must list every position you had within the last 10 years and explain any employment gaps. Upon an employment offer being accepted, you will have to immediately take a drug test.

I attended the open house/info session. After the session, you take an assessment. Then you're asked to stand up in front, talk about your customer service experience, then read out loud the pre-flight announcement. If you're selected, you'll do a 1 on 1 interview. They hire on the spot.
