Application
I applied online. I interviewed at Pinterest in October 2020.
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter about a week after applying online. The process started with a 30 minute phone screening with the recruiter. The phone screening was very basic (tell me about yourself, why do you want to work here, etc.). At the end of the phone call, the recruiter said I was moving forward to another phone interview with a Sales Manager. That phone interview was about 30 minutes. I was asked more technical questions (tell me about a time when, etc.) as well as questions about Pinterest specifically (how would you describe the platform to someone who doesn't have Pinterest). A couple weeks later, I received an invite to meet with 4 team members over video (usually onsite, but because of COVID it was on Google Hangouts). Prior to the interview, I was given an Excel document with data and was tasked to put it into a presentation and relay the data to an Account Manager (acting if they were the client). Each person had different questions and themes (i.e. first interview was how I work in a team, last interview was specifics to the vertical I was applying for). I would say that some of the questions were challenging, but if you prepare tactical examples you should do fine. I got a call from the recruiter about a week later and he went over my feedback from each interview which was super helpful. I got the offer about a month after I applied.
Interview Questions
Interview
Coding test, Karat interview, did not make it to the round after that. The coding test was easy - they gave tons of time. Just had not done enough in person practice to pass the Karat interview.

Interview
Interview process was pretty straightforward - a recruiter screen, a tak home assignment, call with hiring manager, final round (5 different interviews).
The only negative was that I did not hear back from the team for over a month after, which wasn't pleasant. But as I ofund out later, the recruiter had quit so the ball was dropped

Interview
Submitted an application online, got it passed through by an alum from my school.
They sent a link to an online coding challenge that I had a couple of days to complete.
After passing this, I had a short phone interview that lasted less than five minutes and I think just confirmed I was interested in the program and would participate fully.r

Phone call and in person interview. Was interviewed by 4 different people in person back to back. Many questions about team work and collaboration. Offered job quickly after in person interview.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Pinterest.
Interview
Applied via referral. Recruiter contacted me.
Had a tech phone screen. Screener called me (no video) and was clearly doing something else during the interview (distracted). Was told I passed but they closed the position.
Then ghosted by the recruiter. I ended up receiving 3 offers from other companies.
From a candidate experience standpoint, Pinterest was probably the worst company I interviewed with this year.

Interview
Pinterest was the most unprofessional interview experience of my career. The recruiter invited me to interview, then ignored my numerous emails trying to schedule it. (I have read receipts turned on). Prior to this, I had spent 6+ hours completing the written assignment, which I had passed. I shared my availabilities to interview, but was subsequently ignored. I followed up 3 more times and never heard back. I’m assuming the role has since closed — but who’s to know? The recruiter completely fell off the face of the earth.
I was treated unprofessionally, and frankly unethically — Pinterest led me on a wild goose chase and wasted weeks of my time, with absolutely no closure or acknowledgment of their mistake. If you are a serious professional looking for your next move, Pinterest is not the place for you.
