I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Planitar Inc. (Waterloo, ON) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process for the VP of Sales role at Planitar was one of the most organized and professional experiences I've had. The recruiter was responsive, transparent, and communicated clearly throughout every stage of the process. Expectations, timelines, and next steps were outlined upfront, and I always felt informed. Even when I asked for a check in call after hours, he was good with it.
What stood out most was the quality of the conversations. The recruiter took the time to understand my background, career goals, and leadership experience while also providing a realistic overview of the role, company culture, and business objectives. It felt like a genuine two-way discussion rather than a one-sided interview.
Overall, the experience was respectful, efficient, and well-managed.
Regardless of the outcome, I came away with a very positive impression of both the recruiter and Planitar as an organization.

Interview
The core interview process happened across three in-person interviews. It sounds like a lot but each one provided more depth into what Planitar was looking for in this role. Those conducting the interviews were well versed in the company and role, providing excellent framing for what the role would entail day-to-day. I very positive experience from beginning-to-end.

Question 1
A new question for me: how I've adapted to growth at previous companies (since Planitar is currently expanding).
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, very well organised and thoughtfully structured throughout the entire process. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and professional, and everyone I encountered was incredibly respectful and welcoming. It was clear that they genuinely value the people they interact with, whether candidates or colleagues. I had the pleasure of speaking with several employees there, and each conversation left a positive impression on me. They were open, engaging, and passionate about what they do, which gave me a great sense of the company culture. Overall it was a very encouraging and memorable experience.
