    Sales Associate/Cost Estimator Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Protect Controls (Conroe, TX) in May 2015.

    Interview

The interview was basic. I spoke with the head of the HR department for ten minutes or so and ran through my resume with her. She then had the Sales Operations Manager and Vice President of Sales Operations come in and speak with me. I could tell right off the bat that neither had a formal education and wasn't very fond of their condescending attitude. After that, the HR manager had told me what the job paid and that it included a salary and quarterly bonuses but that she would try to get me commissions. I was still in the car ride home when she had called and offered me the job.

Interview on two occasions and after the 2nd interview I was hired. Process was very comfortable and people were very friendly. There were two different people that I had to interview with but overall it was a good experience

    Interview Questions

    • They asked about my knowledge of MRP which is a non issue because I have over 17 years of experience. They were flexible on my vacation time which was nice   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I was able to get them to meet me in the middle on the salary requirements as I took a large pay cut to come work here but wanted to stay in this area. I was also able to negotiate 2 weeks vacation to start and three weeks after the third year

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Protect Controls (Conroe, TX) in July 2012.

    Interview

Interview process was a joke. Was called in for an interview, turns out I had to take a welding test, which is standard for welders. Good thing I had my equipment, but not happy about ruining good clothes. When I came back to start my first day of work, manager did not remember me, pretty sad way to start.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no questions asked except my previous salary   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Zero negotiation. I feel like if I could speak Spanish, I would have started at a better salary.

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Protect Controls in December 2010.

    Interview

I got a phone interview at first and was asked basic questions based on my experiences listed on the resume. Two days later I went in for interview with the VP and a couple of managers in the company. They asked some behavioral questions and technical skills, how I came across the job posting. They asked about my educational background, analytical skills, and how familiar I am with programming. Interview was pretty informal and casual. The work culture is great, people are friendly, customer oriented.
