      Hospice Nurse Interview

      May 11, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Arlington, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Providence (Arlington, WA) in May 2014

      Interview

First, I completed an extensive online form with the ability to attach resumes and cover letters specific to each position and keep them stored there. Seemed to work well. But, after months of not hearing but continuing to apply for similar positions, I reached out to a friend in their hospice program and she spoke to her supervisor. Out of the blue, I received an email from "HireVue" explaining that I needed to complete a Digital Interview with them within 4 days. I was leaving in 3 days for a 10 day trip to a place out of didgtal contact. There was no one to call at Providence to make alternative arrangements, so I decided "to heck with it" and went ahead with the DI. It was awful. I did have an opportunity to fiddle with my home lighting and practice answering the written questions as they appeared, however, the process of speaking to the camera light on my monitor without a person there to give feedback and having a ticking countdown going for each question and doing this for 60 minutes was dehumanizing. I probably gave the worst interview of my life. Then, I didn't hear from their Human Resources until I called the designated person 2.5 weeks later. She only said she'd call me back and after waiting another 6 days, she sent me an email saying I'd been considered but not chosen. It was made clear that this video was available to any department within the entire organization. I spent months getting over this humiliating situation. Having no human to speak with during the process was frustrating. I hope it's working for them.
