I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Purlos (London, England) in Jan 2025
Interview
There were four interview steps that included a screening call with one employee, a longer call with the same employee, a chat with two team members, and ending with a co-founder and CEO.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Purlos (Farringdon, England) in Jan 2024
Interview
3 stages - 15 min screening, 30 min competency and role play, 1 hour interview with the founders to discuss your background, relevant experience, reasons for wanting to join Purlos, and future ambition.
The final stage was incredibly disappointing. The founders were very unwelcoming and overall just plain rude. One went on his phone a lot during the first half of the interview. No offer of water or anything whilst sat in a small hot stuffy room. I'm unsure whether it was their character or strategy, but the interview felt like an interrogation and wasn't conversational in any way. There was no opportunity to interview them on the company, it was all one-sided.
To top it off, I was told that I'll hear back within a week. However, they didn't even email me to tell me I wasn't successful. This actually made my life easier as I didn't have to make a decision on whether I should join a company that clearly lacks integrity and respect for others.
