Audit Intern - Summer 2013 Interview

      Aug 28, 2012

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PwC in Aug 2012

      Interview

I was recommended to their office by one of their clients. I received a phone call from one of their partners asking if I would be interested in and office visit. Office visit included three 30-minute interviews (Partner & two senior managers) and then lunch with associates. Interviews consisted of resume detail questions as well as a couple behavioral type questions. I was informed that the office only accepts two audit interns during the summer and it appeared that they had an obligation to another local university as was mentioned during one of my interviews. I come from a smaller public university and while my grades were nearly perfect and my experience is excellent (current internship & bookkeeping jobs) I lacked being from a target school of theirs. It's unfortunate that, being from a smaller school, you can show all the initiative in the world but you will probably get overlooked by a kid at a target school who rolled out of bed and last minute decided to attend a career fair/meet the firms event on a whim. Moral of the story: Make sure you go to a target school. Overall, I had an excellent experience and PwC is most definitely a top tier firm. I just wish the hiring process wasn't so political as they're overlooking excellent and motivated talent.

      Question 2

PwC is very much about working in teams. You should EXPECT a question of some type about how well you work in teams, what your role in a team is, how you deal with problem team members, etc.
