The recruiter was really great to deal with. Behavioral interview also went well, The technical interview was one of the worst i have ever experienced, It was a panel interview and one of the interviewers was down right rude and disrespectful. I don't know if the idea was to play good cop/bad cop but it was an unpleasant experience. I think i dodged a bullet with this one.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Qohash (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview was very basic, the company is very basic, they had me interviewing with a manager, a VP and a counterpart , and a presentation . last interview i was told i am the one the want and i just need to speak with the CEO. then they disappeared for two weeks and when i kept asking for updates. they told me they chose someone else with the experience required . even though they told me i will be meeting the CEO just a final step. i never met the CEO
I had a recruiter call, followed by a technical and a non-technical interview. While I successfully passed both the technical and non-technical stages, the recruiter later asked about my previous income in a dismissive manner, seemingly to confirm if I fell within the salary range for senior ML Engineers. It made me wonder—if their interviewers were unable to accurately assess a candidate’s level, were they relying on previous income as a benchmark instead? What a shame to see such a flawed approach in evaluating talent.
