- Recruiter cold call, outlined process, put an application through.
- Had a 1 hour technical trivia with 2 directors, focusing on TDD a lot. Mentioned my focus is mostly Java but willing to learn more Kotlin on the job as needed.
- Did onsite - challenge was provided in Kotlin albeit mentioning Java is my preferred language, did not have Java as a sample repository. Used Kotlin to extend Java classes and done all the subsections of the task given. Kotlin package did not have extension questions, so I have to clone Python package to extract extension from there.
- Rejected on the basis of expecting better Kotlin skills. Honestly if you are looking for a Kotlin dev don’t pretend to be looking for a Java dev with optional Kotlin experience. The on-site was incompatible for the Java side of the requirements.
