      Financial Advisor Trainee Interview

      Aug 20, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Athens, GA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial (Athens, GA) in Aug 2018

      Interview

The process was mostly straight forward, starting when I submitted my application online. In response, I received an email requesting I schedule a time for a phone interview. The phone interview covered my background, and sales experience. Following the phone interview was an online assessment, that provide a few scenarios for situations one might encounter as a Financial Advisor. About a week later, I received a rejection email. I called the person I had the phone interview with to gain more information as to why, that was on a Monday. The individual said they would have to get back with me. On Friday I called to follow up. The individual had not received heard back from the local branch manager for the reason, and again said they would have to get back with me. Monday morning, I received a phone call, providing a heads up that an email with the branch manager's contact information was being sent my way, and that the branch manager wanted me to call him. I called him that day. At which point, we spoke for a couple minutes, and said he'd like to meet Thursday or Friday. He asked me to call him Thursday morning to set the time. I called Thursday morning, we set a time for Thursday afternoon. The person I met with was a great person, we chatted about my background, the company, and values. About an hour or so later, I received a phone call from the initial interviewer, and was told they were sending me some documents to move forward. Upon returning the documents, I received an offer letter the following Wednesday. Everyone I met and have worked with through this process have been helpful and great to work with.

      Easy interview

      Application

I interviewed at Raymond James Financial

      Interview

Did not speak to a single person, all virtual, testing your behavior and a lot of yes or no questions. Did not appreciate there was no real person in the process.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial in Jun 2024

      Interview

Multiple rounds of interviews, I had three. First was a brief phone call and was easy enough. The second interview was a "one sided interview" where I had to record myself answering interview questions. The last interview was a "virtual job tryout" which consisted of me taking a short math test and other tests about what I would do in various situations. Overall the process felt extremely impersonal as I only actually spoke to one person from Raymond James in that first phone call. The interview process was negative to the extent that it also made me lose my interest in working at Raymond James altogether.
