The interview process for a Business Analyst typically begins with an initial screening to review the candidate’s background, analytical skills, and understanding of business processes. This is followed by one or more interviews focused on requirements gathering, data analysis, stakeholder communication, and problem-solving abilities. Candidates may be asked to discuss past projects, analyze case studies, or complete a technical or analytical assessment. The process usually concludes with a final interview to assess cultural fit and alignment with business goals before a hiring decision is made.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reflex Group in Jan 2022
Interview
Interview offer at very short notice (less than 1 day). I was asked inappropriate questions including regarding my age.
I received no feedback or any correspondence that I had not been offered the job after my interview.
I called to ask for feedback and was told that the recruiter has misrepresented the vacancy, and the Reflex really wanted someone with a sales background, rather than an engineering background.
I was frequently compared to an employee that was apparently liked the the interviewer, I gather they wanted a clone of this person.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
How old are you?
Thank you for taking the time to review your disappointing interview experience.
We will be reviewing this with the recruiter who worked on this particular vacancy with us, as it doesn't sound like you have had the best experience or that they were fully in tune with the candidate we were looking for as we were looking for a sales focus rather than a pure engineer. I also apologise that you have not had the feedback you were looking for from the agency following your interview, and looking at our records we had passed this feedback onto the agency in early February.
I hope that you have since found the right position for your career.
