HR screening. Initial Interview. Take-home assessment (~5 hours). Interview on assessment, then around three hours on site. Around a month in total. 5 rounds feels a little excessive to be honest, especially as it feels that they were constantly looking for ways to discard you for not having the necessary experience in a very niche field in which you could be trained or be exposed to those situations fairly easily.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General overview, fit, and interest in the role. Then the assessment, 3 questions: regex. statistical testing on an example drug discovery dataset. Then, the implementation of a Union-Find algorithm without using any libraries. Lots of questions on why you chose to do xyz in the assessment, then how you would work as a data scientist within a more scientific environment.

Interview
Interview rescheduled three times. Initially scheduled for a Monday, time was first changed and cancelled no reason. Then scheduled for Wednesday, the next day interview was rescheduled scheduled due to annual leave so rearranged for Monday. Interview started a little late but nothing crazy. Although no acknowledgement of process issues.
Conversation itself was good, on past projects.
