Met with the COO, and she was lovely and had great energy. The interview was more of a conversation about what we are looking for. The second interview was with the reporting manager, and it was more technical. He was very kind, it seems like they have a great company culture.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Retention.com (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2024
Interview
I applied online and had a good first-round interview. Then the second round involved answering technical questions. After that, I have not heard anything. No updates no expectations and no feedback. It is said that the company culture is how you are treated in the beginning middle and even the end. This was pretty disappointing after learning about what the work and culture is supposed to be at the company

Q: Can you review this code and verify what you see?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Retention.com (Austin, TX)
Interview
What an disorganized mess.
I never got a "no" from this company, simply because they're so disorganized they can't keep track of things, apparently.
They had me do an interview and then their coding test which included coding questions and multiple choice questions.
They then went radio silent for weeks, and I had to reach out each time to get an update, with them giving excuses like "oh, we're not hiring for that role yet" or "oh, our team hasn't had a chance to look at the results yet".
Basically it took 2 months to get any traction at which point I stopped reaching out and I haven't heard back.
I appreciate start ups and smaller companies can be a little rough around the edges, but there's no excuses for what appears to be dysfunction. I read other reviews blasting the company and how it's run but was told they were just disgruntled ex employees, but I think they may have been on to something.
