I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Robinhood (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2021
Interview
Two 30-minute phone interviews, followed by a virtual "on-site" interview. The virtual on-site consisted of four video calls lasting 30-60 minutes each. The recruiter I was working with gave a GREAT prep call but the interview was still difficult. Unless you've done Senior level tech recruiting for a cutting-edge software company, the interview will likely be difficult.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Compare these two offers and explain how you'd position Robinhood's offer over the competitors.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Robinhood (Menlo Park, CA)
Interview
Standard phone screen, followed by zoom meetings over a couple days. Took a long time to get scheduled and hear back, not the best candidate experience. Whole process took over 1 month...
Questions were very basic and not thoughtful, some of the recruiters seemed like they didn’t like their job and the recent negative PR probably doesn’t make it easier. Also, to be honest they didn’t seem like they really were planning or prepared to interview me and some of the folks were late (it was multiple back to back interviews).
They do make you sign an NDA about the process so I can’t go into more detail - but nothing in the interview or process is unique in my experience. Not impressed in general, I wouldn’t have accepted an offer even if I got one (I accepted another offer during their process because it took so long). Some of the feedback from the recruiters during our conversations led me to believe they thought the job could be frustrating at times with internal processes, such as getting candidate feedback primarily via Slack vs. email and it getting lost easily etc.
