I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Roblox (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
Disorganized and poor communication.
I was first introduced to schedule an interview via email. The link did not work and when emailing the recruiter, they were non-responsive. Two days later I get a follow up email scheduling me for an interview date for the next day. On the day of the scheduled interview, the recruiter called me 15 minutes late. I asked to reschedule the phone interview as I had lost my conference room and was asked twice to continue with the interview.
The interview processed to be non-technical, asked only of my job experience, and then when I could schedule a follow up interview with the Head of Product. I was asked if Friday from 8am - 9:30am would be okay. I asked for 9:30am and was given "that time is booked". I then requested for 9am and was told "sorry, that time is booked too". Following that I replied "how about any time between 8am to 8:30am, and the response was "those times are booked too". She then proceeded to book me for 7:30am and never followed with with an email.
I received a rejection email at 9pm the following day stating I did not have a technical enough background; however, on two points: I do have a technical background for the positions I applied for and I was never asked or inquired about my technical experience in the 10 minute interview (since the recruiter called late and pressed to continue the interview process).
Overall extremely disorganized, horrible communication, and poor interview process.

Other Product Manager Interview Reviews for Roblox
Played 3 Roblox assessments (Factory game, car game, and godzilla game). The order was a behavioral interview and then 2 back to back product interview. Recruiter was very nice and communicative.

Interview
There were 3 main rounds: games, product sense, and then back to back technical case and behavioral interviews. The last round was the most ambiguous in terms of expectations, but you can partner with other candidates to practice mock interviews together.

How would you build a recommendation system from scratch?

Interview
Very interesting OA, where you were given a few strategy-based games to complete. Although fun, it took around 1 hour and 30 minutes, longer than most other OAs. I think that it was easier and a lot more engaging than traditional LeetCode type questions.
