I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SIA Group (Athens, Athens, Attica)
Interview
In the whole process there were present an HR employee and a Technical Team Leader of the department which was hiring. It was a combination of questions ranging from conventional HR questions like "for what are you proud of in your life", to more technical nature ones, which were only about technologies existence, like git repositories and object oriented programming. Nothing special about it... The mood of the conversation was cool, in a friendly mood but it lasted too long, while the HR was keeping asking questions about my previous work experience, clearly to understand if I am to be trusted as a future employee. Corporate environment with many protocols I can say, from what I've experienced while I was in there. When asked about money, they waited for a specific number, which was inconvenient at this instance, as I following had to explain how I analyze this amount, according to my level of experience (Junior). The fact is that it takes nearly 2 hours to get there on public transportation, starting from the center of Athens, so it wouldn't be affordable for little money (saying little, according to the average salary rates of junior developers with Master's in Greece). When I had to ask I liked to know the working schedule, they told me that I would have to work more hours which, (and I quote) "We are trying to keep responsibility for the extra payments" and some Saturdays there is job to be done. Remote job is allowed 2 days a month but non consecutive and restaurant ticket, private health package etc.
