I applied online. I interviewed at Safeter in Sep 2021
Interview
Let me preface by saying I think this company has a great product on their hands that has tons of potential, however after speaking with them I felt like they really didn't have any clear direction, focus, or growth path. Because of this I fear that once the majority of people get the COVID vaccine and continue to get boosters, using a program like this will no longer be warranted and they will end up being a fish out of water struggling to adapt and survive.
The company is rather small (less than five employees I believe) and my first interview was with one of their founders. We had a nice chat and he expressed how they were desperate to get this position filled as they are rapidly growing and need a dedicated resource to manage all of their customers from a technical perspective. At the end of the call he said the next step would be for me to speak with the CEO and if all went well they would make me an offer.
After about a week of not hearing from the CEO I emailed both he and the person I first spoke with asking for an update. Another few days went by and I emailed the CEO directly to follow-up once again to which he sent me a response saying they were nixing the position at this time so they can reevaluate things on their end. He ended things by saying they would reach out to me and see if I would still interested when or if they decide to open the position back up again.
For a company that expressed how desperate they were to get this role filled to turn around and tell me they were reevaluating things just stems back to my concerns I mentioned at the start about them not having any clear direction.
I truly wish them all the best and hope they end up coming up with a game plan on how to evolve their product beyond COVID so they do not end up another failed start-up.
