I applied online. I interviewed at Shell (Paris) in Dec 2017
Interview
You apply through the website, I uploaded my CV and a cover letter but the cover letter was optional (I'm sure they didn't read mine). The online assessment is divided into 3 parts: English, Logics, Mathematics, and then a part on your "Working style". The Logics and Mathematics parts are quite easy (even though I couldn't finish). The English part (vocabulary questions) is difficult when English is not your first langage... Then you have an online interview with typical behavioral questions.

Interview
The interview process focses on behavioral assessments and technical screenings. Candidates are tested on the "CAR" method, focusing on safety, leadership, and on job competence through structured and in depth questions.
The first round is a recorded video interview. You need to record some videos based on their questions. There were 3 questions or me, which is not very unique. About your project, your interest in Shell.
I recently completed a video interview on HireVue, and the overall experience was pretty interesting. The platform presented a large number of psychological assessment questions along with several prompts focused on workplace morality and ethical decision-making. I appreciated that HireVue allowed unlimited time to record and re-record my video responses, which took a lot of the pressure off and made the process feel more flexible and less rushed.
Each portion of the interview was fairly in-depth and required thoughtful answers, so it ended up taking around 30 minutes per section. The combination of the structured assessments and the freedom to redo videos made the entire interview feel thorough but manageable.
