Interview
Very long but it allowed me to understand the work and industry.
However being honest about the salary from the beginning would've been better, they tried to offer me a salary lower than my current one.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Shippio (Tokyo) in Mar 2023
Interview
After submitting the application, if selected, it started with a casual chat with a senior manager, followed by a take-home assignment. After that, it's an HR interview, a CTO interview, and finally, a CEO interview. The take-home assignment was to answer questions about my management style and how I handled certain situations in my past. It took me around 6 hours to finish, and the review took around 1-2 days. The people are extremely friendly, and they seem to enjoy working there very much. I could tell that starting from the casual chat. The entire interview process was very comfortable. They didn't waste any time asking unnecessary questions (most of the answers are provided through the take-home assignment). Every interview lasts around 30-45 minutes, and I got feedback within 1-2 days after each interview. It's very concise and efficient. Unfortunately, I was looking for a higher level of compensation and they couldn't reach that number. They didn't put it on their JD so I didn't have a chance to take a look at it first. It's understandable, considering they are an early-stage startup. I personally highly recommend the company. The interview process is one of the most comfortable I have been through.
