      Software Engineer Interview

      Mar 9, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Shortcut in Feb 2022

      Interview

The interview took place in 3 stages. 1. Screening interview with HR - 30 min. 2. Pair programming exercise with an engineer - 1 hour. 3. Interviews with Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Pair programming exercise with an engineer, System design exercise with an engineer - 4 hours (including breaks).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The pair programming exercises involved implementing some functions in clojure. The problems were not obtuse and had a well designed scope. The non technical interviews involved questions about work experience and ethos. Overall the experience was quite pleasant, everyone was very courteous and competent.

      Software Engineer Interview

      Jul 8, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shortcut in Jun 2021

      Interview

The interview process had 6 different interviews: - Leadership Interview - Technical Interview (JavaScript) - Culture fit interview - Technical Interview (React) - Systems design Interview - Interview with the VP of Engineering It was a positive interview experience, on the tech interviews they didn't ask for things that I wouldn't have to do on a daily basis like obscure algorithms and data structures. They put a lot of effort into making sure that you're going to be a good fit for the company's culture, which is great cause for me that's the main differentiator when I'm looking to work at a company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What was the most challenging thing you've faced in your career and how did you handle it?
