      LVN Charge Nurse Interview

      Jan 29, 2016

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Silverado

      Interview

Interview was casual and non-intimidating. DHS was direct and asked a few questions pertaining to nursing judgement and competency. Although I did not answer every question perfectly, the open dialogue during the interview allowed for me to explain my morals and values as a Nurse and how my views as a team member were parallel to Silverado's. Immediately placed in supervising role which was not intimidating to me personally due to past work supervising role. Encouraged and trained with day to day follow up with the DHS just to check in and see how I was feeling/doing. Was able to request more training depending on personal adjustment level. No micro-managing, which can be not only stressful but discouraging, but previous actions may be questioned if a problem was to arise while on duty, I was given all the information/tools/community guidelines I needed to be successful and DHS always promoted an "open door policy" for anything I was unsure of. Within 65-75 days of being hired I was offered a full-time position with better hours.

      Question 1

If you come in to work and during your shift you notice a drastic change from the residents baseline behavior, as the nurse what would first come to mind?

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Silverado (Fort Worth, TX) in Jun 2015

      Interview

Brief, asked questions about problem solving, managing CNA's, assessment in COD. Also asked about what would you do in emergency situations. The interview process was not hard. Answer honestly and everything will be fine.
