I had a recruiter call, who spent more time discussing the company and its products than the specific responsibilities of the role. He encouraged me to explore the company's products to better understand the business and culture and also suggested sharing information about the company with others.
During the conversation, the recruiter indicated that my background was a strong fit for the position and that he intended to move me forward to the next interview stage. Based on that feedback, I was optimistic about the process.
However, after the interview, I did not receive any updates for several weeks. I was then sent a rejection email without any additional feedback or explanation. Given the positive discussion and expectations set during the initial conversation, the outcome and lack of communication were disappointing.
The experience left me with the impression that the primary focus was on promoting the company's products and generating interest in the business rather than filling the advertised position.
