the interview process included a phone interview then design test where you also provide ideas for new marketing concepts. there was no pay for the design sample after sending in the ideas as well

Process took about 6 weeks from when I put in my application to last communication. Did three rounds of interviews; with hiring manager, VP and then a panel of colleagues that collaborated with the position. The people were kind and inclusive but after three interviews, two personality tests and them calling on three of my references, they let me know they had given the position to someone within the company or who already knew the company. It was a lot of time invested without clear communication of intention or timeline and I also wish my references were not burdened for this opportunity if it wasn't going to be extended to me. They did let me know there wasn't anything on my end that caused the decision but it was hard to not feel strung along.
