I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SolarCity (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2016
Interview
The interview was a video chat over the course of about 45 minutes. Interviewer was in a cafe which I had never experienced before. I don't know if I'd recommend they do that again. Felt a tad bit unprofessional.
We chatted about the role and the culture of the company. He then asked several "high-level JS questions" none of which felt particularly geared toward assessing a candidate's abilities. I was expecting questions more along the lines of "You're trying to build a new version of FizzBuzz with these new parameters. Explain how you'd do it." Instead I got "When would you use an anonymous function?" I get that that is a reasonable question but not one I felt was worthwhile...
Anyway, I never heard anything back even after writing the interviewer a thank you email where he explicitly said I'd hear from HR. Yes I hear the silence. Loud and clear.

Question 1
Describe the difference between classical and prototypal inheritance.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SolarCity (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2015
Interview
3 X 30 minute sessions with 3 engineers, on site at the SF office. I was referred by an internal employee, so I think I got to bypass the phone screen. The referral link had me register in Solar City's internal job board. My interview was from 1:00pm - 2:30pm, and I guess they really liked me because three hours later they sent me an offer letter with a great offer. It was on a Friday though, and the offer did say it was going to explode if not accepted by Monday.
