First interview involved a power point presentation for the interview panel followed by questions (mainly technical) . The interview took approximately forty-five minutes. Questions were about my research and hypothetical scenarios.
I applied online. I interviewed at Solid State Pharma in May 2022
Interview
The specific requirements for this position were BSc in Chemistry or similar + 2 years of job experience. I was asked to prepare a 15-20 minutes PowerPoint presentation to talk about my technical background, the type of analytical instruments I have worked with, as well as a research project I completed with a highlight of the results. There were 5 people present during the interview, I was asked pretty specific questions regarding different analytical techniques I talked about in the presentation. I got the impression they were looking for PhD + several years of experience instead of what they mentioned in the job description. Everybody was pretty friendly except for the company's owner. He was downright aggressive in his questions and had already clearly made his mind about me. At some point, I lost my patience and answered him in a similar manner. It was clear at this point that it wouldn't work between us. This is just my assumption but it seemed like a pretty stressful work environment.
