I was emailed for an in person interview without having a call with HR or the hiring manager. Ultimately, I got a rejection email citing my lack of certain qualities that they were looking for but were not in the job description. The whole process lacked clarity.

Phone screen with HR followed by in-person interview with hiring manager and team. Despite assurances that they're different, no follow up and ghosted by HR/manager. So no, they're no different than everyone else.
