I applied online. I interviewed at Spend-less Shoes (Adelaide) in Oct 2022
Interview
I applied for this role through their online portal, which required a surprisingly long application form asking for detailed information that was already included in my resume and cover letter. On top of that, they asked candidates to record and submit a video interview as part of the initial application.
While I understand that some companies use video screening to streamline the hiring process, it felt like a significant time commitment upfront — especially for an application that never progressed anywhere. After submitting everything, I didn’t receive any updates, not even a courtesy email acknowledging my application or informing me that I had been unsuccessful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
As part of the video screening, they asked me to record answers to a few pre-set questions. One of them was to introduce myself and explain why I was interested in the role.

Interview
Positive interview experience. Had to complete an online video application so they already had an idea prior to face to face. Friendly. Duration of interview not too long. Made to feel comfortable.

Interview
Easy interview, worked as a causal for over a year. Only got weekend shifts (3 hours owed shift). Was made to feel guilty when I resigned for a full time job elsewhere.
