Applied online and initially received a generic rejection email. A month (?) later, received an email from the hiring manager to discuss my experience. This was a standard behavioral interview where I shared experiences and learned about their work. After this interview was a case study, and if that went well, an interview with the director. The next step was a 'case study' where I was given a couple of questions to use for a slide deck. I had a week to prepare -- and they estimated that I should take like 4 hours to work on it. After this second interview, I never heard back from the hiring manager and got the same generic rejection email ~2 months later. I probably would've preferred silence to the rejection email without any substance.
