      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stanford University

      Interview

First I had a screening interview which covered questions like research and data analysis experience. About a week later I was given a take home assignment. A few days later after submitting the assignment, a second interview was scheduled. During the second interview I discussed the assignment with the hiring manager, and was told that there would be a final round with some executives in the upcoming week. I never heard back about this final interview and received a rejection email from the hiring manager about 2 weeks later. In all my years of interviewing I've never been rejected after being told I was moving forward but before I even had a chance to speak to the interviewers. Reading other Glassdoor experiences it seems that being ghosted or abruptly rejected is pretty common practice at Stanford. It's discouraging for potential candidates and frankly pretty unprofessional on Stanford's part, especially if there are take home assignments involved.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stanford University (Stanford, CA) in Nov 2013

      Interview

I applied online, and got an email for a phone interview with a recruiter. Then the hiring manager sent me a list of things to submit (e.g., written materials including my writing sample, and responses to the 5 essay questions or so about relevant experience to the position I was interviewing for). Then I went through an interview with two hiring managers. I didn't meet any colleagues during the interview.
