Overall, relatively easy as a first interview getting to know employees involved in the company and the role. Very pleasant everyone involved in the interview and great getting to know the team and its backstory.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Sunamp (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Mar 2023
Interview
Ghosted after 2nd stage. Initial 30min conversational interview with existing Data Scientist to confirm skills + experience fit, non-technical. Invited to an hour long final 2-on-1 interview where I had to prepare and present a plan for how I would develop their ML-based thermal control algorithm on a 7 month timeline. Feedback seemed positive during interview. Didn't feel there were any real challenging questions to be honest, certainly not technical Data Science ones. Was told I would hear back in 2 weeks. 1.5 months later I haven't heard a peep despite chasing. Maybe they were farming for candidates' ideas, who knows. I'm lucky to have since interviewed and accepted a role elsewhere, but I wouldn't mind a rejection email from Sunamp still.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Propose (with slides) how you would spend the 7months (until our government funded research deadline) developing our AI-based control system for home thermal management with thermal storage batteries etc.
It was an exam followed by a technical interview then a final interview, The interview process was very swift and quick, they are very lovely people that treated me with respect.
