I applied online. I interviewed at TORC Robotics
The HR was easy to work with and responsive. The hiring manager and another team member were present in a mixed interview of behavioral and technical assessment. The interview felt a little uncomfortable with the constant aggressive "gotcha" attempts of the team member. The interview almost felt confrontational as the member went ahead and claimed that I "contradicted" myself based on my answer to his questions; 1- What is one key attribute you would want in your manager? 2- What would you do in a situation of conflict? Where I answered * Communication * Avoid conflict and escalation. probs he thought I would close my ears and eyes by saying that I would avoid conflict and escalation ...
- What is your expectation for the role?

Coding test, Coding video interview and an onsite interview in Blacksburg. The coding challenge was mostly straightforward and the video interview too. Didn't get the offer as I did not have the right experience.

I completed 4 interviews including a final interview. HR was unresponsive. Had no way of contacting other interviewers to follow up. I conducted a final interview where I completed a coding challenge with 3 other software engineers. Meaningless problem unrelated to the work. Despite this, the interview went well and I was told I would hear back from HR in less than a week. In fact I never heard back and was ghosted. The interview process took about 2 months and no one let me know the outcome. Additionally, the diversity of employees I spoke with was not the best.
- Arbitrary C++ questions about some kind of inheritance

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TORC Robotics in Jan 2023
Initial interview with recruiter for 30 minutes. Recruiter described the job, team and the interview process. It was mentioned during the call that I have give few interviews. Recruiter came back next day telling they are cutting short one interview and only one final interview with hiring manager and the director. Final interview (90 Minutes): Interviewers showed presentation, gave information about Torc and the position, I presented my slides. Interview was very straightforward. They came back with verbal offer very next business day.
- Everything was technical and it was more like conversational than just questions. Very good interview process.
