During the initial call with the recruiter, he mentioned that they have already offered the position to someone else but he reached out after a week or so saying the position is open again. The process included a 1 hour technical call with the hiring manager and a series of six 45 minutes interviews with the team. I was asked to complete an assignment which took 4-5 hours and presented it during the interview. The interview experience was good overall. Two days after the interview the recruiter called back saying the team liked me and wanted to hire. He provided details of what can they plan to offer. I provided a counter and the recruiter never contacted me again even after repeated emails. Communication is very poor.
