I have been working at Talend full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Leadership at Talend is always working hard to help you be successful. This creates an environment where the teams thrive and individuals excel. The work environment is best defined by our slogan..."no one left behind". We watch out for each other, we support each other, we encourage each other, and we are there for each other. Leadership endorses this belief and it creates a positive vibe. Sales can sometimes become a solo act, and yes there is truth to that, but here at Talend its more about your "solo act" is your freedom to manage your business as you creatively want to and not that you are only in good times and bad. Talend...is a GREAT place to be

    Cons

I can't really say something is a CON. Perhaps the need for more in person gatherings. I work remote, so this is more about my personal want then a CON.

Thank you so much for your review! and I think we all agree some more gatherings would be a great plus!

I worked at Talend full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Had amazing stay until towards the last few years at Talend my entire journey experience turned sour. The company was filled with contributors and fun-loving team members. Due to some doubled edged sword people slowly ruined everything. Bullying would be a good word to describe some toxic personalities.

    Cons

Good growth opportunity IF you have a good manager. I wasnt that lucky towards the end of my time at talend. The place is full of people who love to talk and work output is next to 0.

Thank you for your long tenure at Talend and for taking the time to write your review. We are always keen to learn where we might make improvements for our team members, and we take all people issues seriously. In fact, we encourage anyone experiencing workplace difficulties to reach out to their senior leadership or People Business Partner so we can work out a resolution before it impacts our people and/or teams. Additionally, we require all employees complete Workplace Harassment Training to make sure they know how to raise a concern.

I have been working at Talend full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - work/life flexibility in the terms of telework (thank you!!!) - incredibly friendly & helpful colleagues- we hire fun and friendly people, no doubt! - recruitment process - makes it easy to accept an offer when this is super pleasant - international workforce - tool infrastructure - new leadership team - clear goals - benefits across various industries via our wellness program - 401k match - the culture, but, would like to see more employee resource groups (ERGs) form around certain interests

    Cons

    - on-boarding/training on the company and its products is SEVERELY lacking and can take too long to get up-to-speed (who are our competitors? what problems do our products solve? what products are in our suite?) - promotions process is unclear - some get promoted while others who've been there longer/have had their scope of work expanded (say, from regional to global) don't - merit increases don't seem to be competitive with 2020 standards - bonus structure is based on objective completion, so, those with ambitious goals end up with a significantly lower bonus than those who log realistic goals - international workforce can mean many meetings occur before and after typical Pacific Time business hours - only 1 company-sponsored weekly lunch/wk; stocked kitchen could be stocked more regularly though - open office layout means the work environment is loud; makes it difficult to concentrate - meeting rooms lack sound dampening - significant lack of standing desks in-office - still on PTO monthly accumulation - no unlimited PTO - unclear what our JNSQ badge-ing process (think virtual thank yous) factors into (raises? promotions?) - no cell phone/WiFi reimbursement

I have been working at Talend full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Team collaboration - There are dispersed teams all around the world but most interaction between them is continent to continent. The North American teams in Boston, Minneapolis, and Redwood City work fantastically together both professionally and socially. -Work/Life Balance - A lot of companies talk about this as a pillar of their environment but seldom put words into action. That isn't the case here. There is an understanding of responsibilities away from the office and they are very accommodating around it. -Leadership - I have had legitimate conversations with all levels of the sales heirarchy around performance, goals, and management of how to attain them. They really do care about you here. -Growth - I can only speak for the past 7 months but in that time a new team has been created within the sales organization to help expedite one's career growth and have seen a handful of my peers move up a step or two up the sales corporate ladder.

    Cons

Boston office could use a coffee machine.

I worked at Talend full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free Lunch on Thursday. Some internal toolslike Outreach and Zoom were excellent.

    Cons

Insufficient training Poor Culture Micromanagement Not listening to employees Untrustworthy Middle Management Bias treatment Unfair Practices Poor go to market strategy Turnover at every leadership position except for the ones that were doing a very poor job. There are so many cons for this company, I would just say steer clear, there are much better companies and cultures that can put you in a position to succeed.

Thank you for your recent review and we are sorry you had that experience at Talend, and I’m sorry to see the comments below about training and listening. I assure you we do appreciate feedback and care about all of our employees. We recognize that things aren’t always perfect and we strive to be constantly challenging ourselves to do more for our team here. We are also proud of the points below: 1. We have a high Corporate Sales eSat score (Glint) and we just finished our best year in the number of internal Corporate Sales promotions (12 SDRs and CSRs moved into more senior roles over the last 12 months) 2. We have very low turnover relative to the market average. We average 20%/year when excluding internal promotions. 3. We have a market-leading OTE-to-quota ratio for our CSRs and SDRs. 4. We recently expanded our onboarding program and the average rating (anonymous) from new hires on our onboarding has been 4.X on a scale of 1-5. 5. Yes, we have had several senior leadership changes recently, and we believe they are positive. Mike Tuchen is still on our board and our new CEO (Christal Bemont) and CRO (Ann-Christel Graham) have experience leading a company from $250M to $1B, which is the next phase for us here at Talend.

Thanks for the positive feedback and it%E2%80%99s great to see you share my view that we have amazing people, a great product suite, and a lucrative compensation plan for our Sales team. You%E2%80%99re right that we have a big upside as we continue to lead in the cloud integration and cloud data management categories. I am happy about the impact Lauren Vaccarello, our new CMO, is already having and her plans to grow Talend%E2%80%99s brand and digital presence across the world. I%E2%80%99m also excited about some of the new initiatives we are launching, including those involving Pipeline Designer and Stitch Data Loader which give us a unique ability to allow new customers to get started with Talend%E2%80%99s products even faster than before, and also scale up to solve their most complex problems. We%E2%80%99ll continue to test new methods of engaging with our customers and prospects. My door is always open. -- Mike Tuchen, CEO

I appreciate your 3+ years of service to our business during which time you must have made a significant contribution toward our growth following our IPO in the Summer of 2016. Generally I receive very positive feedback from our sales organization about the quality and effectiveness of our SE organization. Also we certainly try to operate 100\% of the time with a sense of urgency balanced with a thoughtful and respectful approach in everything we do. As a growing business this can be a difficult balance, however we try to do what is best for both our customers and employees at all times. Thanks again for your review. -- Mike Tuchen, CEO
