Initial interview was a video call on Zoom and then a trial shift if successful, trial shift was pretty easy, around 3 hours long, they let you know if you get the job after that.
I applied online. I interviewed at Tamatanga (Birmingham, England) in Jun 2024
Interview
You have an online interviewer who then can offer you a trial shift. Mine told me what to expect but said they don't tell everyone. On the trial shift you're quickly shown round everything and then they leave you to see if you proactively clear tables, run food and drinks etc.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tamatanga in Apr 2022
Interview
The interview was through the phone in which I was told that I had the job but to come in for a trial shift to make sure that I wanted it. After my shift at TamaTanga in Nottingham my friend had told me that she had worked there for and expressed I wouldn't get the job due to the management teams being homophobic and me being visibly LGBT.
I was promised that I would be called within a few hours to tell me whether I got the job or not. The trial shift went perfectly I have previous experience so i felt that there would be no reason to not get the job. I didn't get a reply so messaged the manager a couple of times to which the response was 'unfortunately you were unsuccessful, good luck with your job search' .
It seems my friend was right, this branch in particular seems to only employ people based on the way they look and do not have room for diversity amongst the team.
Would not recommend applying. I came away from this experience very disappointed.
