Initially interviewed one on one at my campus career fair. Don't remember if it was a store manager or not. It was a relatively simple interview asking why target, and tell me about your self (basic interview questions) and then three situational questions. Tell me about a time you had to make a decision with little or no information. Tell me about a time you had to motivate someone to do something. And I can't remember the third. I received a email the following week by a target campus recruiter asking when I was available to discuss geographic preferences over the phone. Phone call was scheduled later that week at which point she said another HR representative would be in touch with me to proceed with the interview process. A face to face interview at a store was then scheduled with a business partner. There was 5 behavioral questions. Tell me about a time you had to adapt to an unforeseen change. Tell me about a time you made a mistake, your most demanding project, a time you didn't know how to start a project and a time you mentored or coached someone. The interviewer didn't ask me tell me about your self, strengths/weaknesses although he did ask me why target, this interview lasted about 30 minutes. About a week later I heard from the HR representative over the phone about proceeding with the interview process and scheduling a phone interview with a district team leader (DTL). I felt more prepared for this interview because I had experiences already in mind from the last interview. This interview was slightly harder maybe because it was over the phone? It was also 5 behavioral questions. A time a worked with a group to resolve an issue, a time I anticipated and dealt with an obstacle, a situation where I actively solicited input from others. Definitely use experiences that showcase your leadership and how you are able to work with a team. Talk towards results and what you learned. This time I was asked tell me about yourself and why target as well. The DTL said I would have one more interview with a group pharmacy leader. I got an email from my original campus recruiter the following business day asking when I was available to talk over the phone to "follow up" about my interviews with the team. The email was vague and sounded like it could go either way. The phone call was scheduled for later that week. I was pretty nervous at this point cause of how the email was worded. But the recruiter called me and asked if there were any other offers made to me at this time and if I was thinking about pursuing a residency (I answered no to both). Then the recruiter said "well obviously I am alluding to an offer and when I make the offer you will have 24-48hours to accept or decline. Would you be willing to knock out the drug tomorrow afternoon and we can discuss the offer details in the morning. The next morning I got the offer verbally over the phone and took the drug test that afternoon. I accepted the offer when it was given. A week later HR called me to tell me the drug test and background test are completed and told me unofficial start date and to contact my recruiter if I have any questions. Ironically I didn't interview with ONE pharmacist. Nor did I really showcase my pharmacy knowledge as much as I could have. I guess no one made it to the next interview which was supposed to be with the group pharmacy leader. Good Luck everyone. Hard work pays off.
