I was contacted by a Technical Recruiter via LinkedIn late September 2015. I was introduced to Tesla and who they are looking for within their team. We scheduled a phone interview to go into some more details.
Phone Interview 1 - Recruiter: We talked about my background and why I was interested in working with Tesla Motors. Most of this discussion was to see where I would fit into the company. The recruiter really wants to see if you are passionate about electric vehicles, sustainability, Tesla, and other key skills / qualities for the role.

I had made it through the phone interview stage and the recruiter asked me to attend a recruiting event in Melbourne where I would interview with hiring managers face to face.
Face to Face 1 - Sr. Manager

At the end of the day, the Tesla hiring staff want to know that you are passionate about Tesla and EVs, and that you really know what you're talking about. If you have said that you have experience in X and Y, you need to be able to show them that you truly were involved and have the experience you said you had.
