The first step in the interview process was the usual, a 30 minute zoom call. They asked about my experience with teaching and specifically with test prep. I was then invited to an "evaluation" which was 2 session, 2 hours long, and I was given several pages of "homework" to complete before the evaluation. I completed their "homework" and showed up to the evaluation, and was told afterwards the first person I interviewed with would be in contact to schedule my next evaluation. I was already scheduled for a second one, and did not hear anything from anyone at the company, so the day before I was scheduled I reached out, and they told me they were still deciding who they were continuing the (very long) interview process with, and they would get back to me. Well, weeks later, I have heard nothing. Since the interview process is so long (over a month) and with several hours of "homework" weekly, I asked if they would be hiring everyone who did well in their evaluations, or if they were interviewing more people than they had positions. This was answered in a very roundabout way, and I don't doubt this is why they ghosted me. They also admitted that if the student's no-show or cancel, you are not paid, even if you are at work. And if a student is late, you will not be paid for the time you spent waiting, your pay will be docked depending on how late the student was. Could be a great gig if you don't need money, and just want some extra money on the side, but if you are looking for a job where the company values its employees, this is not the place for you.
