Begins with a group interview sitting in a circle where you start to learn a little about the character of the company. Creative answers and outside the box thinking are encouraged.
I applied online. I interviewed at The Container Store (Portland, OR) in Sep 2012
Interview
The initial interview is a group interview, and was actually really fun. I would dress semi-business formal, but nothing overboard. Dont have holes in your clothes! :)
It basically is like a round robin sorta thing, they just go around and ask questions of the group, one at a time, and you answer the best you can!
If that goes well they call you in for a second interview in person, and decide if they keep ya!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard stuff really, I think the hardest was was just coming up with something I did that was "way above and beyond normal customer service" blah blah blah. Not a hard interview and no hard questions, its just a matter of thinking of a good example when you are are actually asked :)
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Container Store (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2019
Interview
Applied online. Next day get a phone call to come in for open interviews the next day. Come in and 2 people interview me. After the 2nd, I was told to wait for a phone call. That generally means you did not get the job. Apparently you have to meet with all the managers and get approval from all of them. Seeing as one sent me out, I guess it was a no.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Container Store (New York, NY) in Jul 2018
Interview
I applied in the beginning of July 2018. Two days later, I received an email for a phone interview. After the phone interview session, I was invited to go to the store and speak with one of the managers. After speaking with the manager, a week later, I found out that I was offered the position and was given a start date based on my schedule at the time.
