Was contacted by phone. Interview was arranged; I showed up at the agreed-upon time and met with no fewer than 3 individuals. And a puppet; yes, a puppet. 5 mins into the meeting I realized that I was seriously out of place in the environment. Also heavily christian focused, which was self evident by the media plastered on the walls. But arguably, the company is privately held, so they can do what they want in that regard. At least, that's what I was led to believe. Regardless, this company is clearly faith-based.
During my tour around the office, which was spacious but largely empty, my guide provided me with the background/origin of the organization replete with a number of massive portraits of the founders.
I met 2 editors who struck me as completely unprepared in that they hadn't so much as reviewed my resume, and therefore, had no idea who I was or why I was there. At that point, I was questioning the validity of my own presence there myself.
The third editor I met broke out the puppet and I just couldn't. I thanked all parties involved for their time and excused myself.
